DEPUTIES SAY MAN STOLE, SOLD TOMBSTONE RINGS

NEW PORT RICHEY

A man is accused of stealing brass vase rings from tombstones and selling them for scrap metal, according to an arrest report from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Henry William Sizemore, a 27-year-old unemployed transient, is accused of causing $11,000 damage to tombs and grave markers on Sept. 26 at North Meadowlawn Funeral Home in New Port Richey.

The metal rings were broken off and sold for $320 to STR Scrap Metal in Port Richey. Sizemore is charged with criminal mischief of $1,000 or more and disfiguring a tomb or monument.

He was already in the county jail on other unrelated charges of uttering forged instruments and dealing in stolen property when he was charged with the cemetery crimes.

He is being held in the Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.
