RAYS PAY FOR ERRANT WAYS

After forcing out Carlos Pena, Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia throws to first to get Evan Longoria and complete a double play in the first.

Carl Crawford walks away after making the second out of the ninth inning. Crawford was 1-for-4, singling and stealing second in the fourth.

Rays players and fans share the disappointment in the ninth. The last team to win an ALCS after losing two chances to clinch was Oakland in 1972, in a best-of-five series over Detroit.
