The Shops at Wiregrass are offering a variety of events Oct. 30 and 31 to celebrate its grand opening. The shops are at the corner of State Road 56 and Bruce B. Downs in Wesley Chapel.
- Macy's Newest Star Makeover is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Center Court. Laura Geller has been creating beautiful faces in Hollywood for 25 years. At 10 a.m. she will make a speech during the grand opening ceremonies.
At 11 a.m. she will greet the public, and as part of the event, complimentary makeovers will be given by several cosmetic companies.

- Dillard's Designer Runway Show is set for Nov. 1 with a cocktail hour at 4:30 p.m. at the Brass Tap and fashion show at 6 p.m. in Center Court.
Rebecca Weinbert, stylist to the stars and an Emmy award-winning costume designer, will host the show.
The fashion show is free; however, for a $20 donation to the American Cancer Society, fans can attend the cocktail hour, watch the show from premier seating and take home a swag bag and a $10 gift certificate to Dillard's.

- Stroller Spook is set for 9 a.m. Oct. 31 in Center Court. Children should be dressed in Halloween costumes for the class, which will provide spooky fun for the children.

- JCPenney will provide two high-energy workout sessions at 10 and 11 a.m. Oct. 31 in Center Court.
Participants will follow the moves of fitness expert Kim Merkel. The first 100 will receive a $10 gift card from JCPenney.

Create a tile, support breast cancer fight
Residents are invited to show support for the fight against breast cancer at the Shops of Wiregrass with Print Pink, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
For a $50 tax-deductible donation, clay tiles with handprints or messages can be inscribed.
The colorful 6-by-6-inch tiles will be signed, glazed and installed throughout the Shops of Wiregrass. Imprinting days are Nov. 1 and 2.

Flapjack Festival fun runs Oct. 31 to Nov. 2
The 2008 Flapjack Festival is set for Oct. 31 through Nov. 2 at a new location, the Pasco County Fairgrounds, 36722 State Road 52 in Dade City.
Events scheduled for Oct. 31 include a costume contest, face painting and trick-or-treating for children ages 12 and younger. Vendors will hand out treats.
