SALARY CAP ISSUES

Discontent is growing among general managers over the practice of teams burying their problem high-priced players in the minors so the salaries donÕt count against the cap. ItÕs within the rules of the collective bargaining agreement, but GMs are saying privately that teams should be forced to pay for their mistakes by having demoted players count against the cap. The issue likely will come up at the GM meetings beginning Wednesday in Chicago.

Olympics: Canada wonÕt name its coach for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver until after the season, team executive director Steve Yzerman said.
