Candidates, voting equipment at forum
The League of Women Voters and Council of Neighborhood Associations will host a candidates forum from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Sunshine Center, 330 Fifth St. N. Countywide and south county candidates for state, constitutional, County Commission, circuit judge and School Board offices have been invited to participate. Written questions submitted by the audience will be sorted by a nonpartisan committee. The candidates will have one minute each to answer questions. Representatives from the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections education department will give a demonstration on voting equipment. Call 896-5197.
Fall festival aids Haitian students
A Haitian Fall Festival will be held Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on the grounds of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 738 Pinellas Point Drive S. Enjoy jerk chicken dinners, live music, treasure sale, bake sale and various activities. Table rentals are available for $20. Call 866-2187.
