BIANCHI, John Joseph 92, of Pinellas Park, died Oct. 17th, 2008, at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital, Fairfax, VA. Born Nov. 23rd, 1915, in Pennsylvania, he was the son of Achelli and Anna Bianchi. Mr. Bianchi was married to the former Mary Fiore, who preceded him in death in Aug. 1988. John has been a resident of Mainlands in Pinellas Park for over 35 years, where he was active in bingo, bowling and the Men's Club. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pinellas Park.Besides his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Louis Bianchi, and two sisters, Jean DiMeo and Linda Colletti. Survivors include one son, Robert Bianchi and his wife Tina of Fairfax, VA; two brothers, Albert and Alfred Bianchi; three grandchildren, John Bianchi, Lisa Meyers, Bob Bianchi; and five great-grandchildren, Kayla, Sophia, Grace, Madison, and Brittany. BOWENS, Edgar L. 71, passed away Oct. 18, 2008. He served in the United States Air Force. He was employed as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, retiring after 32 years. BRINKER, Bernhardt A. 85, of Clearwater, died on Oct. 20, 2008 at Oaks of Clearwater. He was born in Queens, NY and he came here in 1988 from Rochester, NY. He was an Army veteran of WWII and served with the Infantry, Corps of Engineers and with Ordinance. He was a Research Engineer with Sperry Gyroscaope Company, Sylvania Electronic tube Division and University of Rochester, NY Nuclear Structure Lab & the Laser Fusion Lab. He had published several scientific papers pertaining to Nuclear Fusion Fuel Cells. He was an Elder in the United Presbyterian Church, attended St. Bredan RC Church and was a member of the Moose Lodge #1030. Survivors include his wife, Elisabeth, son, Bernhard of Colorado; his daughter, Diane Phillips of Belleair Beach; and 4 grandchildren, Robert, Jennifer, Lindsay, Jon Brinker; and 2 great-grandchildren. CURRY, Paul James 90, died Thursday, Oct. 16th at his residence in St. Petersburg. Mr. Curry was born in Trenton, NJ and came here in 1960. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army, WWII, and retired as a salesman from Mitchell Electric. DEINLEIN, John Donald 84, of Largo passed away on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008. Born May 22, 1924, in Liberty-ville, IL. Son of John C. and Clara H. (Bower) Deinlein. He is survived by his loving friend and companion of 38 years, Lynn Pippenger, his adoring springer spaniel Lady Elizabeth, and many friends. John retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1963, as a Senior Master Sergeant. As a teenager, his uncle taught him to fly. He then attended Oregon State to study aeronautical engineering, but at the start of WWII, he joined the Army Air Corps and trained as a B-24 bomber pilot and was stationed in Europe and South Africa with many missions during the war, including multiple missions on D-Day and the Berlin Air Lift. He later trained pilots for duty in Korea. After the war, he was assigned to radar and early computer installations. He talked many times about piloting a very precision mapping exercises over Greenland and northern Canada, as well as being stationed at Edwards AFB. After he retired, he owned and operated several businesses, including one in Miami, flying damaged planes back to be repaired and then owned DP Warren Sheet Metal in Pinellas Park until 1994. He was an avid reader and had many varied interests including computers, model railroading and handcrafting beautiful oak furniture. FULMER, Edith Marguerite Born July 1st, 1917 to Carl R. and Edith A. Fulmer, in Clearwater. Passed away Oct. 19, 2008, in Clearwater. A graduate of Clearwater High School, Class of '38, she began working at the Peninsula Telephone Company which later became General Telephone Company. She retired from there after serving nearly 50 years. She was a Heritage Member of First United Methodist Church of Clearwater on Turner Street, to which, donations, in lieu of flowers are encouraged. She is survived by her 2 brothers, Carl Ellsworth Fulmer of Largo and George L Fulmer Sr., of Clearwater. She is also survived by a nephew, George L. FYFE, Carol A. (Denehy) 73, passed away on Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, James F. Fyfe. Also left to cherish her memory are her two sons, James (Denise) and Kevin (Bebe). Her legacy includes 5 grandchildren, Shannon, Stacey, Victoria, Kevin, and Leslie; great-granddaughter, Cienna; and step grandchild Phillip Chatelain. KOUWE, Robert Peter "Saki" 60, of Tampa, passed away Oct. 20, 2008. He was a loving husband, a proud father, devoted friend, accomplished golfer and a highly successful businessman. Saki was a man who loved to laugh and live life to the fullest. He was a loyal friend and made them easily. He loved his country, his family and his friends. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched. LAWSON, Phyllis M. 88, passed away on Oct. 18, 2008, in St. Petersburg, after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Worcester, MA to John and Gina Morelli on Feb. 17, 1920, and moved to St. Petersburg in 1967. She was a graduate of Worcester City School of Nursing. In 1943, she volunteered for service in the Army Nurse Corps and was assigned to a field hospital in England during World War II. Mrs. Lawson obtained the rank of First Lieutenant and was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. As the spouse of a military officer, she lived in a variety of locations in the United States and also in Germany. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Raphael's Church. She enjoyed preparing large meals for her family and was an avid gardener. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Colonel George A. Lawson, Sr. USAF (Ret.) of St. Petersburg; 2 sons, George A Lawson, Jr. of Aiken, SC, and Dr. J. Mark Lawson of Chesapeake, VA; and 2 daughters, Ceci L. Shannon of Birmingham, AL and Lori L. Member of Eagles Wood Condominium Board of Directors. Former Commander of the Florida State Chapter # 1 of American Ex-Pow Post. He was also a commander of the Catholic War Vets. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

MEALS, William E. "Bill" Our beloved father passed away on Oct. 18, 2008. Born in Argentine, PA, Sept. 9, 1910, he was the last living member of a family with 7 children: Charles, Raymond, William, Helen, Dorothy, Lester and Chester. MULLER, Charles A. "Andy" 80, went to his eternal reward early Monday morning, Oct. 20, 2008. He was at home under the care of Hospice and his loving family. His homegoing followed a brief battle with cancer. He lived each day of his life in a peaceful way, earning the respect of all he knew, and his passing was in the same manner. He had been a resident of St. Pete Beach for 15 years since he retired from a long career with the Norwegian Foreign Ministry. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gladys; two devoted daughters, Susan Muller Thielemann of St. Petersburg and Cindy (Jim) Cavagnaro of Seminole; and one dear son, Todd (Marcia) Muller of Naples, FL. Andy also leaves his two precious granddaughters, Kim (Justin) Grimshaw and Katie Cavagnaro, as well as many life-time friends. SPINDLER, Amy Elizabeth 95, of Dover, DE, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, in Kent General Hospital. She was born in Sept. 27, 1913, in Chesterhill, OH, daughter of the late Willard and Lucy (Woodyard) Parker. Amy was co-owner of a hardware store with her late husband in Plymouth, IN for 20 years. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph B. Spindler in 1995, a son, Parker "Jerry" Spindler in 1999, two brothes, Philip Parker and Donald G. Parker and a granddaughter, Amy Marie Spindler in 2003. She is survived by a daughter, Carole J. Jones and her companion Bob Shulties of Dover, DE; daughter-in-law Sally J. TAIT, Robert A. 82, of Clearwater, departed this life to join his beloved wife Kathleen, on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Morton Plant Hospital. He was born in Aurora, IL and came to Clearwater in 1958, from Naperville, IL. He was a retired CEO of UPCO Postal Employees Credit Union for 35 years, a Methodist and a veteran of WWII, having served as a paratrooper with the U.S. Army He was also a member of the Retired Postal Employees Breakfast Club and an avid Tampa Bay Rays fan. ZSETENYI, James 85, of New Port Richey, died Oct. 19, 2008 at Gulf Haven Assisted Living Facility. He was born in Chicago, and relocated to Florida in 1986 coming from Calumet, IL. He was an employee of the Illinois Central Railroad for 39 years. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and the Lighthouse for the Visually Impaired and Blind. James is survived by his loving wife, Theresa of New Port Richey; 3 sons, Michael (Patricia), Thomas (Wendy) and Robert (Karen) Zsetenyi. He is also survived by 1 granddaughter and a great-grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 24 at 9 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
