The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee will host a Candidates Forum at 6 p.m. today in the commission chambers at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 N Main St. A meet and greet with the candidates will be at 5 p.m. The forum will be televised live on Hernando County Government Broadcasting, Bright House cable Ch. 622, and will rebroadcast at various times until Election Day on Nov. 4. Repaving work may bring delays

Repaving of the following Hernando County roads is scheduled to begin this week: Camp Castle Road, from Weatherly to Peterson Road; Preston Road, from Mondon Hill to Haddon Road; Buck Hope Road, from Barnett Road to the city limits; and Mitchell Road, from Emerson Road to Cortez Boulevard.One-way traffic and brief delays in work areas are expected. First two concerts have free tickets

Free tickets for the first two concerts of the Community Performing Arts Guild season will be distributed from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Mariner United Methodist Church, 7079 Mariner Blvd. Tickets will be available for Nov. 15, Sweet Dreams of Patsy Cline, starring Leanne Williams; and Dec. 6, Bay Street Brassworks.
