Beaus' dispute turns into ambush
A dispute that unfolded between a woman's current and former boyfriends escalated into an ambush at the entrance to the USA Flea Market on U.S. 19, authorities say. The Sheriff's Office says 10 to 15 people drove there Oct. 4 and attacked three men, using baseball bats, tire irons and brass knuckles. Ben Bradshaw was hit in the face with a bat, a report says, and dragged to a drainage ditch, where two people tried to drown him. Sam Bradshaw was dragged from the car and suffered facial injuries and a broken arm. Russell Stender got hit with the brass knuckles and had to have surgery on his face. Roger Eugene Mumma was upset with Ben Bradshaw for not leaving his ex-girlfriend alone, deputies say. Mumma, 18, of 11395 Dauphin Ave. N in Largo, faces three counts of aggravated battery and was being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
A story in Wednesday's Times about the Dade City rummage sale listed an incorrect location for the event. The sale will be at Pasco Avenue and Sixth Street in Dade City from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
