If you like to spend your weekends knitting/beading/glass-blowing, etc., it's time to take your obsession from hobby to hustle. Shoppers looking for unique holiday gifts would go gaga for your handmade wares. Connect with them, and support some good causes, by selling your stuff at a local bazaar.

Craft Roots

Vitals: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Volunteers of America of Florida headquarters, 1205 E Eighth Ave., Ybor City. This event is presented by Cigar City Crafters, a Tampa crafting group that promotes creating and selling handmade products. There's room for 27 crafters, with about a dozen already registered. This event is the same day as Guavaween, so that should generate good traffic to your table.

Registration: $50. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Volunteers of America of Florida, which helps provide self-sufficiency for the homeless. For information, including a list of vendors, visit or send an e-mail to

Handmade Holiday Bazaar

Vitals: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 9 in the parking lot of Fiberologie fabric store, 411 15th Ave. N, St. Petersburg. Fiberologie will also be open, so that should generate good traffic.

Registration: $40 for an 8- by 5-foot space or $60 for a 10- by 10-foot space. Download the vendor application at or send an e-mail They're looking for 35 vendors max, and they're filling up.

Open House and Holiday Market

Vitals: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Tampa Garden Club, 2629 Bayshore Blvd. You don't have to be a club member to sell your jewelry, yard art and other wares at this annual event.

Registration: Free, but 10 percent of your sales must go to the Tampa Federation of Garden Clubs, a nonprofit. E-mail or go to Deadline is Monday.

Christmas Under the Oaks

Vitals: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 15-16 at Coachman Park, 301 Drew St., Clearwater. This is the 32nd year for the arts and crafts festival, which is sponsored by Clearwater Junior Woman's Club and the city of Clearwater. There's space for 200 vendors, but the jewelry category is full.

Registration: For Saturday only, a single booth is $155, a double booth is $200. For both days, a single booth is $175, a double booth is $300. Proceeds benefit the club's scholarships, grants and community service projects. Call (727) 725-1414 or go to

Buckler's 15th annual Craft Fair

Vitals: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 29 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Entertainment Hall at the Florida State Fairgrounds. Usually about 150 crafters attend this fair; the jewelry category is full.

The Holizaar: A Hand-Made Holiday Extravaganza!

Vitals: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 30 at Studio@620, 620 First Ave. S, St. Petersburg. The St. Pete Craft Heroes, organizers of this event, are looking for anything handmade besides jewelry.

Holiday Shuffle

WMNF's annual Holiday Bazaar

Vitals: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Cuban Club, 2010 N Avenida Republica de Cuba, Ybor City. Crafters of all types are welcome. The holiday gift sale will be in the ballroom and outside; there also will be music all day in the theater and courtyard.
