Angelina and Brad reportedly spend time in theirs together every night. Paris Hilton got in trouble in one. And for those of us who need to escape, but can't afford to hop on a jet and fly away, the bathtub is an affordable destination for relaxation and renewal. Just pick your favorite bath time accompaniment and soak up this luxurious escape.

The San Francisco treat

San Francisco based Elizabeth W's bath and body collection serves up deluxe boutique bath products at their best. Offerings range from triple milled soap to delicately scented bath oil in Citrus Vervain, Magnolia, Sweet Tea and more, to Eau de Parfum and Body Lotion. I adore the Spa Sets, chicly packaged in upscale pastels but far from cheap at $85 a pop. The set includes an 8 oz. Bath Gel, 8 oz. Body Lotion, Perfume Candle and Bath Pouch and is available in classic scents including lavender, rose, lilac and beyond. Get it online at

Bubble trouble

Traveling from delicate to devilish, I came across a saucy bathing collection from Booty Parlor, a company whose tagline "the beauty parlor for your sex life," says it all. Celebrity fans of the collection include Angelina Jolie, Carmen Electra and Jennifer Love Hewitt. My favorite is the bubble bath, aptly named Naughty Bubbles, which boasts pearlescent glisten beads that leave skin gorgeously glossy. Buy it online at; $10 for 2.2 oz. or $22 for 8.4 oz.

Mindful soaking

From California hails a Certified Organic bath and body collection called EO Products. The EO bath line is inspired by the idea of "mindful soaking," the Japanese ritual of bathing which encourages relaxation and purification as an essential element in daily life. Both EO's Bath Salts and Bubble Baths are free of sodium lauryl, laureth sulfate and parabens while featuring therapeutic amounts of essential oils such as ylang ylang, cedarwood and calendula. I adore the "Time Out" Bath Salts ($3.99 for 4 oz. at, which combine solar and epsom salts with essential oils to soothe and purify, yet remain happily free of artificial colors or synthetic fragrances.

Take me away

Mom may have counted on Calgon, but I've found a more modern take on the bath time escape, thanks to UK company Liz Earle. I've long been a fan of Liz Earle's skin care collection, and the Vital Oils Bath line doesn't disappoint either. "The Essence of Wellbeing" Vital Oils set features three 10 ml bath oils in scents called "Comfort," "Harmony" and "Bliss." Pair your pick of fragrances with the coordinating Vital Oils Scented Candle and a glass of wine and you'll feel as if you're miles away from it all.
