After a slow first quarter, Palmetto's Marva Carley dominated the rest of the way in a district matchup, gutting the Jesuit defense for 230 yards.

Jesuit (4-3, 1-2) scored on a 40-yard field goal from Tyler Feely late in the first quarter, but Palmetto (6-1, 3-0) quickly regained the lead on a 28-yard pass from Ethan Gilbert to Damian Copeland. Carley added a touchdown a few minutes later to stretch the lead to 14-3. Late in the third quarter, Jeremiah McKinney punched in a 1-yard score.

Fumbles and miscues plagued Jesuit, which lost a key fumble early when Erick McGriff muffed a punt. Palmetto recovered and scored four plays later.

The loss would have put Jesuit out of the running for a playoff spot, but Spoto upset Sarasota Booker to set up a potential three-way playoff if Jesuit can beat Spoto next week.
