Penalties and sacks combined for 155 lost yards for Sarasota. The Sharks (1-6) defense also forced and recovered a fumble and picked off Sean Hurley on the Sailors' final drive.

Hurley was 9-for-12 passing for 72 yards but tucked everything underneath, never connecting on a pass over 15 yards. The Sailors tried three running backs but the offensive penalties rendered the rushing game ineffective. Sarasota converted only three of 12 third downs.

Riverview split carries between Eric Lampe and Terrance Carter, who combined for 239 yards. Lampe crossed the goal line for both scores. The offense moved the chains 14 times, converting on third down twice.

"Offense controlled the ball; we knocked holes in them all night," coach Dan O'Regan said. "We flip-flopped tailbacks in there. I told these kids, we're only guaranteed four more weeks so we have to play our tails off."
