Trevor Scott kicked a 26-yard field goal with 4 seconds left to lift Florida A&M to a 31-28 victory over Norfolk State on Saturday.
Curtis Pulley completed 13 of 27 for 252 yards with three touchdowns and rushed for 101 yards on 13 carries for the Rattlers (6-2, 2-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Philip Sylvester added 105 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.
Dennis Brown completed 22 of 37 for 192 yards with one touchdown and an interception, adding 131 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries for the Spartans (2-6, 1-4).
Pulley hit Isaac West on a 60-yard score to give FAMU a 28-21 lead, then Brown's 37-yard pass to Dario Walker tied the score at 28 with 35 seconds to go. The Rattlers drove 67 yards in 31 seconds to set up Scott's winner.
Florida A&M outgained Norfolk State 464-371 and overcame five turnovers.
Sylvester ran 44 yards for a Rattlers score midway through the third, and Takeen Hedgeman's 1-yard run for the Spartans tied it at 21 in the third.
B-CU 27, WINSTON-SALEM 6: Quarterback McKinson Souverain ran for three touchdowns, all in the fourth quarter, to lead Bethune-Cookman to a nonconference victory.
Souverain rushed for 79 yards and three scores on 17 carries, and completed 7 of 13 for 88 yards for the Wildcats (5-2). Brian Sumler added 96 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.
Bethune-Cookman outgained the Rams (1-6) 337-187.
Sumlar's 42-yard touchdown run, the only points in the third quarter, tied the score at 6. Those were the first six of 27 unanswered points for the Wildcats, as Souverain ran for touchdowns of 6, 3 and 7 yards in the fourth.
