It just wouldn't be Halloween without a few scary flicks making moviegoers scream.
In addition to Saw V still pleasing gorehounds, two movies aimed at chilling spines and emptying wallets open Friday.
Eden Lake (R) sounds like a rehash of last year's The Strangers, with lovers (Kelly Reilly, Michael Fassbender) finding terror in the woods in the form of taunting sociopaths. The MPAA rating is due to "strong brutal violence, pervasive language, some nudity and brief drug use."
Compare that with the "strong thematic material, violence and terror, brief strong language and some teen drinking" that the MPAA noticed in The Haunting of Molly Hartley, which earned a PG-13 rating. The movie deals with a new student (Haley Bennett) at school plagued by visions and voices from her dark past.
Without name stars, anyone can die messily in either movie.
And if those movies don't sound scary enough for the occasion, there's always High School Musical 3.
