Back on track: RHP Andy Sonnanstine gave up just two runs in 52/3 innings in his last start, minimizing the damage in his first win of the season. Sonnanstine is 2-1 with a 5.65 ERA in five career starts against the Yankees.
Tough task: The Yankees have won four of A.J. Burnett's five starts, with the high-priced free agent acquisition coming through so far. Burnett has fared well against the Rays, going 8-4 with a 2.94 ERA in 17 career starts.
Matchups: Derek Jeter is 6-for-15 against Sonnanstine and Hideki Matsui is 3-for-10 with two homers, but Robinson Cano is 2-for-11. For the Rays, Jason Bartlett is 5-for-17 with a homer against Burnett and Carl Crawford is 14-for-39 with a homer, but Evan Longoria is 2-for-13.

Guest appearance of the day
Matt Garza will be part of a panel discussion today in New York tied to the National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy. Garza, who fathered a child in high school, was willing to share his story because it's "a good cause." He'll share the stage with Heroes'Hayden Panettiere, right. "That's cool," he said. "It's going to be fun." Also on the panel is Bristol Palin, daughter of former VP candidate Sarah.
