Picking up the pieces from a turbulent offseason. Severino is Chamberlain's third coach since the end of the 2008 campaign.

What they're saying about the Chiefs

Coach Joe Severino "We've got some young guys and we've got a couple of older guys ...that are pretty darn good. Our problem is, we don't have a lot of depth."

Coach Joe Severino "Even before all this ridiculous recruiting was going on, they always had a pretty good (talent base) at Chamberlain, so that should help."

Coach Joe Severino "They lost like, 24 seniors (from 2008). Even if Billy Turner's still here he's going to have some concerns."

Durant coach Mike Gottman "I know Joe Severino pretty well. ...He's going to run some wing-T, he'll run some option out of it. He'll get them fired up to play."

Durant coach Mike Gottman "I know Chamberlain took a hit with a lot of people going elsewhere, but I expect to see a lot of athletes on the field."

RT Jarvis Henderson "I think we're gonna shock a lot of people this year. Everyone's counting us out and that's what I like."

Friday Night Rewind Chamberlain will always have athletes, so Chiefs fans shouldn't fret about the long term. But this clearly is a transition year.
