St. Petersburg blocked a 27-yard field goal as time expired to win a game marred by a third-quarter brawl. Two players from each team were ejected, including Green Devils star defensive back Dondre Davis.
"Absolutely embarrassing," St. Petersburg coach Joe Fabrizio said. "It's not a street fight."
Sophomore David Jones threw and ran for scores as the Green Devils took a 14-3 halftime lead.
"I knew he was open, and I knew I was going to get it to him," Jones said of his 47-yard touchdown to Malik Wilson.
The Eagles scored on their first drive of the third, a 24-yard run by Jamaal Wilburn, who finished with 155 yards on 28 carries.
The game ended with two defensive stands by St. Petersburg, first stopping East Lake on fourth and goal from the 1 then blocking the field goal.
