There hasn't been this much trouble in the dance world since K-Fed's backup status moved front-and-center with Britney Spears. ABC's Dancing With the Stars dancers Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff - who in some cases are more well known than the "stars" they dance with - have called off their engagement. The couple got engaged this year but decided not to marry until next summer. Now they've called the whole thing off. Karina's rep confirmed the breakup, but Maks' camp isn't being chatty just yet. Hopefully, they won't turn to their new dance partners (Aaron Carter and Debi Mazar) for comfort. Well, she's done it before - is Mario Lopez still available?

Chris Brown to headline M.J. tribute show - maybe?
What's more bizarre: that the big, official Michael Jackson tribute concert will take place in Vienna or that the disgraced Chris Brown was named one of the headliners? Also on the bill are Mary J. Blige and Natalie Cole, the AP says. Madonna could also join the show, which ultimately could include up to 25 performers. The show is set for Sept. 26 outside a 17th century palace in the Austrian capital. Jermaine Jackson has said Vienna was chosen as the venue because his brother "loved castles," and because Jermaine was impressed with how a smaller tribute held in July outside a mothballed nuclear power plant was organized. As for choosing Chris Brown, who admitted to attacking his girlfriend, Rihanna, we have no idea what the Jackson family is thinking. In fact, Brown's agent says any news of him participating in the tribute show is premature at best. "Chris is not confirmed to perform or participate in any capacity for this show," the publicist for Brown's label tells E! News. Brown would need court approval for the trip, E! points out. Too bad. We figured he was a natural for singing a cover version of Beat It.

Gosselin hates his estranged wife
Big surprise: Jon Gosselin told the three remaining people on the planet who didn't already know that he despises his estranged wife, Kate, and believes she took his wedding ring. According to the AP, the co-star of Jon & Kate Plus 8 told ABC News' Chris Cuomo on Good Morning America that he set down his ring one day and it vanished. He says no one else could have taken it. He also accuses Kate of verbally abusing him and beating him down during their marriage. (We can be accused of verbally abusing both of them for the past few months now.)

Jennifer Aniston needs a date ... bad
For what must be the gazillionth time since Brad Pitt broke her heart with that Jolie floozy, Jennifer Aniston is proclaiming she still believes in love. Yes, her heart will go on, as she tells Australia's Harper's Bazaar: "I'm still a romantic. I still believe in love." Geez, tell John Mayer, Vince Vaughn and even Bradley Cooper, to whom she was recently linked. Jen, we know you're okay and we're happy for you, but the broken record makes it seem like you're advertising for Mr. Right. We haven't seen a woman look this desperate since Rachel Green dated a college dude who stole her money.
