GUNG-HO GAMERS DO NOT PASS - OR EVEN GET PAST - GO

Looks like Google doesn't have a monopoly on the golden touch after all. Monopoly City Streets, the online Google/Hasbro game that is played on a Google Map with real-life streets, crashed Wednesday as desperate fans swamped the Web site on its launch day. They didn't anticipate this? Tsk, tsk. Actually they did, according to the site's blog. "We ANTICIPATED an opening rush when we launched the Monopoly City Streets online game, but the first few hours have surpassed even our greatest EXPECTATIONS." (Stop with the capital letters. Just tell us when it'll be fixed.) "We are in the process of increasing our firepower and expect to be running more smoothly within the next several hours." When it's up and running, players start with $3 million and buy or build hotels, houses, stadiums and even castles. Check for yourself at monopolycitystreets.com.
