DAUPLAISE, Omer J. Jr. 90, of Clearwater, died on Monday, Sept. 7, 2009. He was born in Superior, WI and moved to Clearwater in 1989, from Chicago, IL. He was a retired program manager for the Department of Commerce and a veteran of WW II, having served with the U.S. Army. FISCHER, Dorala "Cissie" 67, of Clearwater went with God on Monday Sept. 7, 2009, at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg. Formerly from Evanston, IL, she studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and Michigan State University before receiving a Bachelor's of Art from the University of Illinois. Cissie briefly taught art at Champaign High School. While residing in Clearwater with her husband, Craig, she managed their veterinary practice for many years. Cissie is survived by her husband Craig; two daughters, Susan and Amanda; and five grandchildren, Elise, Griffin, Fischer, Atli and Carico. Cissie will be dearly missed by her family and friends for her wit, generosity and love. FLETCHER, Thomas Joseph 48, of Tallulah, LA passed away at home Sept. 6, 2009. Thomas was born April 25, 1961, in Fall River, MA. He moved to St. Petersburg in 1968, and later he moved to Tallulah, LA in 2007. He attended St. Petersburg Catholic High School. Thomas was a welder by trade and worked at the ship yards in Tampa on U.S. Navy Ships. He was also in several business ventures with his brother Charles Fletcher, Celtic Drilling, Celtic Underground and Celtic Directional. Thomas was an avid gun collector and a dedicated family man. He was pre-deceased by his father Raymond R. Fletcher Sr.; mother Katherine M. Fletcher; brother Raymond R Fletcher Jr. and nephew CJ Fletcher. GRAY, Laura Kuschel 46, of Tampa, went to be with her Lord on Sept. 5, 2009. Laura was born and raised in West Palm Beach and graduated from Forest Hill High School, Nikon School of Photography and was a licensed cosmetologist. She grew up in Belvedere Baptist and First Baptist Church of Lake Worth, were she used her beautiful voice to sing many praises and solos. Laura loved waterskiing, wakeboarding, snowskiing, fishing, boating, motorcycles, singing, music, photography and was an avid wildlife lover. She blessed many lives with her wonderful DVD's where she put her pictures to music. MEANS, Max 87, of Tampa, passed away Sept. 7, 2009. Max was born in Kansas City to Dwight and Ruth Means. He grew up in Ohio and graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1948, with a chemical engineering degree. He worked for Union Carbide Corporation in Charleston, WV for over 23 years and moved to Tampa in 1986. During WWII, he served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Force Weather Service. He is survived by his wife Virginia of 64 years; daughters, Helen Means, Mary Wilson and her husband David; sisters, Barbara Berner of Georgia and Marion Shockney of Texas; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. MORAN, Tonia D. 44, of Clearwater, passed away Aug. 31, 2009 at Dunedin Mease Hospital. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and graduated early from John Dewey High School with honors. She matriculated on a scholarship to Ohio Wesleyan University. After leaving OWU she moved to Cleveland and studied early childhood education at Cuya-hoga Community College. She moved to Pinellas County in the mid 1980s and was a former supervisor for Burger King and Climate Design Air Conditioning and Heating, and currently a supervisor for the Pinellas County Tax Collector. SHEELEY, Leroy 88, of St. Petersburg, died peacefully Sunday, Sept. 6 at home. He was born in Waynes boro, GA and moved to St. Petersburg at an early age. He was owner and operator of Quick Cleaners that was located on 22nd Street South. He was a member of First Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. WEIL, Bessie Ruth Calhoun of Seminole, passed away Aug. 13, 2009. She was born in Bradenton and moved in 1940, to St. Petersburg. Her maternal grandparents were early settlers in St. Petersburg and her father's parents moved to Bradenton in 1904. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Leroy W. Weil. During WWII, she was a First Class Petty Officer in the Coast Guard. She received the American Theater Medal and the Victory Medal. Her Late brothers, Dallas and Joel, served in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII. She earned her private pilot license in 1948, and loved to fly, taking many solo trips out of Albert Whitted Airport. She graduated from St. Petersburg Junior College and then from Florida Southern College and received an MA from the University of Florida. She was a member of Pi Gamma Mu, Sigma Tau Delta, Phi Alpha Theta and Mortarboard. For several years, she did editorial research at the St. Petersburg Times and later taught history in area high Schools. She sang in numerous local opera productions and in area churches. She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church in Indian Rocks Beach. She was past Regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a Grand Star Lifetime Honorary member of the Florida Sheriff's Association and a long time supporter of the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches. Survivors include three nieces, Sandra Calhoun, Lora McClamrock and Maureen Wilkins; a nephew, Brian Calhoun; cousins Sherrell Boette and Albert Goodyear, and her close friend Colonel (Ret.) Donald Meek, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church, 1615 1st Street, Indian Rocks Beach, on Saturday, Sept. 12th, at 10 am. Interment services were privately conducted at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
