BAKER, Robert H. 61, Clearwater, died on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, in Tampa. Bob was born Jan. 25, 1948, in Streator, IL, the son of James R. and Helen Patrick Baker. He was a 1966 graduate of Dwight Township High School and continued his education at Lincoln Christian College in Lincoln, IL. He was employed for many years with the Nielsen Media Research Company in Dunedin where he was an administrative assistant in operations. He was also the organist for St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Tampa. He was a talented and gifted musician, playing both the organ and piano. He was a very active volunteer at the Tampa Theater and played the Mighty Wurlitzer before many movies and at special events. He was also very active in the Central Florida Theater Organ Society and served on their Board of Directors. Bob is survived by a brother, James P. Baker of Springfield, IL; a sister (twin) Barbara Baker Chapin of Quincy, IL; a nephew, John Andrew Baker of Springfield, IL; a niece, Kathryn Milliman of Springfield, IL; 5 great-nephews and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at 11 am, on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, at the Tampa Theatre, 711 North Franklin St., Tampa, FL 33602. Refreshments will follow the memorial service at the theatre. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be given to the Central Florida Theater Organ Society or the Tampa Theater, in care of the Tampa Theatre. BARBER, Patricia A. 79, of St. Petersburg, passed away Sept. 10. She was a native of Hamilton, OH and moved to this area in 1975, from MI. She retired from Florida Federal Bank and was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She loved her family, children and grandchildren. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Jean Barber Mizzell, Susan Barber Haynes and Ann Barber; her 3 sons, Gerald, Tom and Rickhard Barber; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. BUETZOW, Frank F. 52, of Seminole, has been called to his heavenly place to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Sept. 5. Frank was born on Aug. 30, 1957 in New Port RI. He graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy, PA in 1975. He graduated from Tampa College with degrees in accountant & computer sciences. He was a senior business credit specialist at Bank of America. Later a tax associate at H&R Block. Frank was dedicated to the church music ministry as well as a talented pianist and composer. He was an organist at Bay Pines Lutheran Church, Seminole, assisted at Faith Lutheran in St. Petersburg & others as needed. He set a fine example as a wonderful Christian husband and father. He was preceded in death by parents, Frank & Anna Buetzow; his mother, Luise Pfeiffer; his brother & sister. CLARKE, Lawrence H. Age 92, of Clear-water, passed on Sept. 9, at the Oaks of Clearwater, under Hospice Care. Lawrence was born in Schoolfield, VA and moved to Florida from Maryland during the 1970's. Lawrence was a WWII Army veteran. He was a member of the Gulf Coast Railroad Museum of Parrish County, and attended Curlew Baptist Church. Lawrence is survived by his son, Lawrence of Richmond, VA; 2 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren. COREY, Jeanne M. Born July 30, 1931 to Edward and Jeanne Gay in Lynn, MA, died peacefully with family at her side at Marliere Hospice Care Center on Sept. 6, 2009. Jeanne is predeceased by her first husband of 41 years, Lionel Dancause. She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Joseph Corey; children Donna Dancause, David Dancause and Deborah Dancause; siblings Robert Gay and Ruth Hubbard; and three grandchildren. Jeanne has been a resident of Seven Springs Golf and Country Club since relocating from Lebanon, NH in 1990. An avid golfer and gardener, Ms. Corey enjoyed traveling abroad during retirement years. DAY, Donald Sawyer 64, of St. Petersburg passed away on Sept. 8 at the Bay Pines Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 24, 1945 in Muscatine, IA. Don served in the U.S. Air Force in the Viet Nam era. He owned and operated the D-Day Lawn Service until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth & Donald S. Day, his wife, Lorna Day, and sister, Terri Day. EMMERT, Howard E. "Herky" 81, of Clearwater, went home to be with the Lord Sept. 4, 2009. He served in the U.S. Navy, retired as a finish carpenter, and was a member of the local Carpenter's Union. He was greatly admired for his craftsmanship. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of Woodlawn/Harvest Temple Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl D. and Rowena Roach Emmert and a sister, Kathryn Williams. HENRY, Peggy Ann (nee Dadd), 70, of Largo, formerly of Baltimore, MD, passed away on Sept. 9, 2009. Born on Feb. 20, 1939 in Baltimore, MD, Peggy graduated Eastern High in 1957. She was a retail Manager for 30 years, retiring from Sykesville, MD, FairHaven Senior Living Facility. Peggy moved to Largo, FL in Feb. 2004 and was a member of Anona United Methodist Church and its Sanctuary and Choraliers Choirs. She was President of her PEO chapter; Secretary of the Sugar Creek Community Club, a "Friends" Singer and a Fletcher's Music Center organ student. Previously Peggy was a 35-year member of Randallstown, MD's Mt. Olive UM Church and Choir, and sang with the Alamedian Light Opera Company from 1958-1965. Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, William C. McDEVITT, Charlayne 73, of Largo, passed away suddenly Sept. 7, 2009 at Largo Medical Center. She was originally from Chicago, IL and was a Roman Catholic by faith and a homemaker. She recently lost her husband, Matthew, who passed away in March of this year. She and her husband had celebrated 52 years of marriage. PAPASERGI, Laura Born July 29, 1964, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 8th at Mease Dunedin Hospital. She graduated Pace University in 1986. She was Vice Pres. and Trust Tax Officer at Regions Bank since 1989, and a member of the Pinellas County Estate Planning Council. She was a faithful member of Fresh Start Church, a Loving wife and Blessed child of the Lord. On Sept. 8, 2009, she left us to be with the Lord. SARRIS, Michael Edward 49, years old, passed away Sept. 9, 2009 in Livingston, LA under the care of hospice. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Sarris; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Douyard; his brothers Mark Sarris, Scott (Karen) Sarris; his sister, Gerry (Sean) Critelli; his three children, Bill & Emily Sarris, Marjorie DeAngelo; his grandchild Steve DeAngelo; two stepchildren, Todd and Dustin Owens. SHEEHAN, Dennis Vincent Age 92, passed away suddenly after a brief illness in South Passedena on Sept. 9th, 2009. Born on the Beara Penninsula, West Cork, Ireland, Dennie immigrated at a young age to New York City and upon retirement, relocated to Florida. One of a family of 10 he is survived and will be sorely missed by sister Kathleen; brothers James and Edward plus many nephews and nieces in Ireland, England, Canada and Holland. THOMAS, Milo 87, died Wednesday at Saginaw Ranch in Brooksville, surrounded by family. He was born on Feb. 16, 1922 in Frostproof, to Gus S. and Lula Stokes Thomas. He married Fay Milian on Dec. 14, 1942, before deploying to the South Pacific where he served honorably as a Seabee with the Navy Construction Battalion for three years. Upon returning from the war, Milo and Fay started a family. Milo and Fay had three sons, Milton Milo and Randall Martin, both born in 1947, and Dwight Bradley who was born in 1949. Descended from a cattle family, Milo started a small dairy on Linebaugh Avenue in Tampa after the war but eventually moved the growing operation to Odessa, in the late 1950's. His wife and three sons contributed enormous efforts to the success of the dairy. In the 1980's, Milo sold the dairy operation due to falling milk prices and purchased land near Spring Hill, where he maintained a herd of six hundred to eight hundred beef cows. Milo called upon his carpentry experience gained with the Seabees to construct his family home on Sheldon Road and to contribute to the design and construction of his home on Saginaw Ranch as well as countless buildings and structures associated with his dairy and ranching operations. He also continued to raise cattle on the family land on Sheldon Road, most of which has now been sold to the Westchase development of Northwest Tampa. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gus S. and Lula Stokes Thomas; three sisters, Virginia Johnson, Russell Thomas, and one unnamed sister who died at birth; three brothers, Emery, Gus Jr., and Gordon Thomas; his wife, Fay Thomas; two sons, Milton Milo Thomas and Randall Martin Thomas; and one grandson, Milton Milo "Tommy" Thomas Jr. He is survived by his sister, Dora Kingery of Tampa; one son, Dwight Bradley Thomas of Brooksville; two granddaughters, Alison Fay Scott and Tammy Jean Thomas of Tampa; one grandson, Christopher Adam Thomas of Trumansburg, NY; two great-granddaughters, Sydney Ann and Bailey Louise Scott; and a large and loving extended family. Mr. Thomas' friends are cordially invited to a visitation with his family from 6-9 pm on Monday, Sept. 14, at Blount Curry Carrollwood Chapel, and are also invited to Mr. Thomas' funeral service on Tuesday, September 15, at 12 pm. WASHER, Louis A. of Tarpon Springs, passed away on Sept. 8, 2009. He was born in Oswego, NY in 1921 and moved to Florida in 1923. He lived in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Tarpon Springs. Louis attended the University of Florida and Washington State College, and served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific. He married Evelyn O'Dell in 1947 and is survived by Evelyn, his children Nancy and Gary; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He worked for a life insurance company as a sales manager and attained a career goal of Chartered Life Underwriter, a designation of insurance expertise.
