Plant City intercepted Middleton backup quarterback Aaron Midthus three times and recovered a fumbled snap in the fourth quarter to end the Tigers' comeback chance.
Plant City's Art Knight made several key tackles at linebacker for the Raiders (1-1) but it was his performance on special teams that determined his team's success.
Middleton deflected a low punt by Knight, which the Tigers recovered on the 5-yard line early in the fourth quarter. On the next play running back Vasty Paul and kicker Steven Jordaan put the go-ahead points on the board, capitalizing on a missed point after by Knight earlier in the game.
Knight later regained the lead with a 32-yard field goal.
But turnovers proved too costly for the Tigers (0-1) as Javonte Sykes added the cushion late in the fourth quarter with a 35-yard touchdown interception return.
