A week after a one-point loss, St. Petersburg Catholic rebounded in a big way against Northside Christian.
The Barons (1-1) cruised to a 39-6 win over the Mustangs (1-1) on Friday night.
The game was delayed 45 minutes because of lightning. But the only lightning strikes that mattered came from the arm of Barons quarterback Chris McKay, who threw four touchdowns. Two of the scores - 44 and 42 yards - went to receiver Julian Smith.
But the Barons had a balanced attack, rushing for more than 180 yards, much of that from Keelyan Bryant, who had 103 yards on 16 carries.
The Mustangs' lone score came in the third quarter, when Chris Culbreth capped an 85-yard drive with a touchdown run.
