A relative of a Weeki Wachee man killed in a fatal wreck in December filed a wrongful death claim Thursday against the other driver. The lawsuit seeks more than $15,000 in damages from Mitchell D. Vliet for the death of Troy John Schultz, 41, who died in a head-on collision Dec. 20 on U.S. 19 near Grizzly Bear Lane. It was filed on behalf of Linda S. Johnson. Vliet, then 19, fled the scene of the crash but was soon found by law enforcement. The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
