Cadet First Class David A. O'Brien, son of Tony and Natalie O'Brien of Seminole, graduated May 20 from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and has been commissioned as an ensign in the U.S. Coast Guard. O'Brien received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering with honors and his first tour of duty will be as an engineer on the USCG Cutter Jarvis in Honolulu. O'Brien is a 2005 graduate of the St. Petersburg High School International Baccalaureate program.

Navy Seaman Recruit Anzua V. Mason, nephew of George Bunch of St. Petersburg, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Mason is a 2007 graduate of Frank H. Peterson High School in Jacksonville.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Sean C. Ruehling, son of Jean M. Ruehling and William W. Holtzberg, both of St. Petersburg, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Ruehling is a 2008 graduate of Snider High School in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Joshua A. Henderson son of Robert Henderson, St. Petersburg, has graduated from Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga., and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Henderson is a 1997 graduate of Robert Service High School, Anchorage, and earned a bachelor's degree in 2005 from Northern Arizona University.
