CHORALE LETS CHILDREN VOICE THEIR TALENTS

There's a place for those with and without experience.

There is still time for Hernando and Pasco children to join the Nature Coast Children's Chorale. There are options for children in grades 2-12. The Training Choir is a new, nonauditioned choir for children in grades 2-5. This choir will teach the basics of choral singing and proper vocal technique. Rehearsals will be for one hour on Thursday evenings at Powell Middle School.

The group is having auditions for the Boys Choir, for boys in grades 6-12. It's the only one in the area. The Training Choir and the Boys Choir will be under the direction of West Hernando Middle School choral director Morgan Burburan. The other two remaining choirs are under the direction of Powell Middle School choral director David Pletincks.

The Treble Choir is for auditioned students in grades 4-8. The Concert Choir is the auditioned girls choir with girls from grades 8-12. The Treble Choir and Concert Choir students have been invited to go to New York City in February of 2010 to perform at Carnegie Hall in a production of Carmina Burana by Carl Orff and there is still time for children to be a part of this production.
