DEVICE UNDER DISNEY BUS WASN'T A BOMB

ORLANDO

A device found Thursday underneath a Walt Disney World bus wasn't a bomb, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said. The sheriff's hazardous device unit removed the device, which was attached to the bus' undercarriage. A maintenance worker found it during a routine inspection, and Disney shut down bus service and examined all buses.

Vet parade bans Confederate flag

Organizers for an upcoming South Florida parade have decided that a Confederate battle flag cannot be flown. Jeffrey Wander, with the Homestead/Florida City Chamber of Commerce, said Wednesday that members voted against allowing the Sons of Confederate Veterans to fly the flag in this year's Veterans Day parade, despite saying two weeks ago that the group could.

Florida No. 1 in foster adoptions

Florida is getting a $9.75 million federal bonus for leading the nation in increasing foster child adoption. The grant will be used for adoption incentives, said state officials.
