A 68-year-old Spring Hill man who became unconscious at the wheel of his minivan early Wednesday died after being taken to Oak Hospital in Spring Hill. Authorities said that Gilbert Wolmart was southbound on U.S. 19 near Breakwater Boulevard about 1:30 a.m. when he suffered a medical event that left him unconscious. His passenger, Heather Hasenstaub, 34, grabbed the steering wheel of Wolmart's 2004 Kia minivan and guided it to the shoulder of the road and into a drainage ditch. No other vehicles were involved and the Kia sustained no damage in the accident. The crash remains under investigation.
