Jesuit launched an explosive air strike after failing to establish a ground game, demolishing previously undefeated Durant (2-1).
Senior quarterback Bobby Eveld was poised and accurate as he completed 20 of 31 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns. Hitting six receivers, each of Eveld's touchdowns went to a different teammate, as Ben Gutowski, Will Schaefer and Travis Johnson found the end zone.
"Definitely the offensive line stepped it up tonight ... receivers were making plays and everything was clicking," Eveld said. "We were able to pass the ball because I had time."
Jesuit's offense was assisted by an opportunistic defense. The Tigers (2-1) pounced on three of Durant's five fumbles and intercepted a pass en route to the shutout. The unit also blocked a punt late in the first half to set up Eveld's third touchdown drive.
The Cougars' lone bright spot was the athleticism of John Hicks, who carried 10 times for 102 yards.
