A 38-year-old man is accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl, who told authorities the abuse began when she was in elementary school. Antonio E. Tablada, who lives at 5414 Chapel Pines Blvd., was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual assault on a person under 12 years old and two counts of sexual battery, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said. Tablada was held without bail Thursday at the Land O'Lakes Jail.

Mother with child punched, choked
Authorities say Nicholas G. Dattoli, a 28-year-old from Port Richey, tried to strangle his girlfriend and punched her in the face while she held their 1-year-old child Wednesday morning. Dattoli is charged with battery by strangulation and child abuse, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said. A report says the child suffered a bruise during the scuffle and the girlfriend's face and arms were bruised. She had a cut on her lip and dried blood on her shirt, the report says. Dattoli was held without bail Thursday at the Land O'Lakes Jail.

Report: Shotgun talks for boyfriend
Brian L. Cesaro wanted to talk with his girlfriend Wednesday evening and brought a shotgun with him, said the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. A report says Cesaro, 34, went to the woman's home on Sparkman Road and fired a shot in the air. No one was injured, the report said. Cesaro was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was released Thursday from the Land O'Lakes jail on $5,000 bail.

Man held in sexual abuse of girl, 13
Daniel L. Santiago, a 31-year-old from Land O'Lakes, is accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said. A report saysthe girl told authorities the abuse happened in August. Santiago, of 4223 Whittner Drive, was arrested Wednesday and was charged with lewd and lascivious acts. He was released that day from the Land O'Lakes Jail on $10,000 bail.

Aid offered today to homeless vets
Stand Down, a health fair for homeless military veterans, will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at First United Church of Hudson, 13123 U.S. 19.
