The Informant!

The gist: Matt Damon packs on the pounds in this true-life account of a corporate whistle-blower. How he lost all the weight will be the bigger mystery. R

Starring: Damon, Scott Bakula, Melanie Lynskey and Joel McHale.

The buzz: So is it a serious subject or a satire? "The whole film, a comedy about crime and mental illness, seems at war with itself," the Hollywood Reporter says.

Jennifer's Body

The gist: Diablo Cody's flick about Megan Fox turning into a literal man-eater. When will she stop playing cheerleaders? R

Starring: Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Johnny Simmons, Adam Brody and J.K. Simmons.

The buzz: You really shouldn't expect too much from this, even if Fox is featured swimming nearly nude in a lake. "You ought to have a movie that's both smart and sexy. But Jennifer's Body is neither," the St. Louis Post-Dispatch says. "Most damning of all, it's not scary."

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

The gist: An animated adaptation of the kids' book about a town where food falls from the sky. Bravo was all set to make a reality show about it, too. PG

Starring: Voices of Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan, Bruce Campbell, Andy Samberg, Mr. T and Tracy Morgan.

The buzz: Wow, it's almost as if this is a real story. "A joyful romp, devoid of the tiresome pop-culture references," the Miami Herald says.

The World's Greatest Dad

The gist: Robin Williams stars as a milquetoast teacher who hates his life, but gets the chance to turn his life around when his ungrateful son does something we won't spoil for you here. R

Starring: Williams, Alexie Gilmore , Daryl Sabara, Geoff Pierson, Henry Simmons and Mitzi McCall.

The buzz: Who knew Bobcat Goldthwait would make a movie that lets Williams stretch his chops as much as One Hour Photo? "For all of its cutting cynicism, Dad proves unexpectedly moving in its portrait of a middle-aged man leaving childish things behind," the L.A. Times says.

Love Happens

The gist: Two beautiful people who are for some reason or another afraid of commitment meet each other and fall in love, but (surprise!) are afraid to seal the deal. We wonder how it all turns out ... PG-13

Starring: Aaron Eckhart, Jennifer Aniston, Dan Fogler, Judy Greer, Joe Anderson, John Carroll Lynch, Frances Conroy and Martin Sheen.

The buzz: You know what? You've seen this movie so many times before, we're not printing any reviews. It's not like it would matter if we told you to stay away anyway.
