ANDREAE, Jane Stickney 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at Freedom Inn Countryside Assisted Living surrounded by loving family. Of all Jane's interests, and joys of life, her children were her true passion and was tirelessly devoted to them. She was known by friends and family for her sense of humor, friendliness and profound generosity. It has been said that she never met a stranger. She loved to paint, play bingo, travel, make rugs for her family and friends and tell stories of her experience with the USO during World War II singing for the wounded troops in Miami. She was also an avid golfer for many years. Mrs. Andreae was born on Jan. 24, 1927 in Miami to Ila and Thomas Stickney. She was preceded in death by her older brother, Thomas and older sister, Marion. She is survived by son, Martin Jones of Oldsmar; daughters, Carrie Hurd of Clayton, GA and Pamela Allen of Charlotte, NC; daughter-in-law, Kathy Jones; son-in-law, Robert Hurd; son-in-law, Donald Allen; grandchildren, Denise Knoop, Paul Allen, Steve Allen, Brittany Jones, Laura Allen, Natalia Hurd, Lena Koroleva, Jackie Jones, Jenny Allen; and 7 great-grandchildren, Ashley Knoop, Josh Knoop, Sam Knoop and Tommy Knoop, Taylor Allen, Kayla Allen, Jake Allen. DICKEY, Robert "Bob" a resident of Dunedin for over 20 years, died in Fairbanks, AK on June 27, 2009. Born in Ohio, Bob was a proud volunteer for the City of Dunedin. He and his wife Barbara moved to Alaska to be near family several years ago. Bob graduated with honors from The University of Ohio, and from Ohio State University with a Masters Degree in Education. Awarded for his basketball and baseball skills, he later coached winning teams in both sports in Ohio. He was a Teacher, Coach, and Sales Representative for the Industrial Pump business. Bob served in the Army Air Force, WWII. He received The Lifetime Achievement Award from Lancaster, OH. He was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church and attended Zion Lutheran Church in Fairbanks where a memorial service was held in July. PITTS, James Samuel "Jimmy" 74, of Largo, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at Morton Plant Mease Hospital in Clearwater. He was born Dec. 29, 1934, in Blountstown. He is a military veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving duties on the Destroyer USS Gearing until 1959. After leaving the Navy, he started working for the Asplundh Tree Company and then Florida Power Corporation until he retired after 38 years of employment. During this time, he served as Largo City Commissioner and Vice Mayor of Largo. He belonged to the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club and Kiwanis Club. He received his Bachelors Degree from Eckerd College. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife Sandra; son Jim Pitts II; daughter Kimmey Sullivan; granddaughter Sydney; grandsons Eric and Tyler. A celebration of his life will be at 1 pm on Oct. 17, 2009, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Largo.
