A day after the Bucs fired their offensive coordinator, the Bills did the same. Turk Schonert was out, quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt in.
But unlike the Bucs, questions about the offense weren't answered. Receiver Terrell Owens said Trent Edwards missed a couple of opportunities to go deep Monday against the Patriots.
"Trent has to better assess what he's seeing out there and take some shots down the field," Owens said.
But Owens suggested that with a bit more efficiency, "I think we'll be headed in the right direction."
Edwards went 15-of-25 for 212 yards and two touchdowns. Most attempts were screens or to underneath receivers. Owens and Lee Evans combined for five catches for 71 yards.
"Terrell's right. There were some opportunities," Van Pelt said. "But for the most part, I thought Trent did a great job as far as getting it to the right receivers."
