Two armed robbery suspects were arrested after a police pursuit through the College Hill and Seminole Heights neighborhoods Thursday.
Police say Freddie White, 30, and LaShonda Robinson, 28, were caught on a surveillance video robbing someone at gunpoint Wednesday.
Officers recognized the pair from previous incidents and began searching for them about 7:40 a.m.
Fifteen minutes later, three undercover officers saw the suspected getaway car, a silver Mercury Marquis, at the Antigua Motel, 1106 E Hillsborough Ave., and followed it. Police said the car was stolen from a relative of one of the suspects.
At N 22nd Street and E Hanna Avenue, three more officers joined the pursuit in two marked patrol cars. An air patrol followed from above.
The chase ended as the Mercury pulled into a driveway at 2913 N 29th St.
Police said White and Robinson ran from the car, but officers caught them within seconds. They were arrested on charges of aggravated fleeing to elude and armed robbery.
Andrea Davis, a Tampa police spokeswoman, said additional charges could follow.
Davis said the pursuit was not high speed, but that the exact speeds could not be released pending the outcome of a standard internal review.
All police pursuits are reviewed internally to ensure officers are in line with the agency's standard operating procedures.
