The Green Devils were called for offsides on the opening kickoff. That was the only mistake they made, rolling over visiting Dixie Hollins.
"It's a rough week and short week," Green Devils coach Joe Fabrizio. "They did a nice job of staying on task and doing what we asked them to do."
The St. Petersburg defense forced a three and out and gave the ball to the offense which drove 47 yards in eight plays for their first touchdown. Rashad Lewis ran the ball in from 11 yards out.
The defense forced another three and out and on the ensuing possession Malik Wilson scored the first of three rushing touchdowns on a 40-yard scamper.
"We practiced hard this week," said Wilson, who ran for 127 yards. "We only had two days to prepare but we stayed focused."
Another defensive stand led to a 55-yard punt return touchdown by Lewis for a 21-0 lead.
"We always tell the kids to play a better game than the last week," Fabrizio said. "We have to strive to be perfect."
