TOP 10 FUNDRAISING EVENTS FOR SEPTEMBER 2008 TO AUGUST 2009

A million Floridians are out of work, yet three-quarters of the state's population donated money to a charitable organization last year, according to Florida Philanthropic Network. Still, lower attendance and fewer sponsorships at fundraising events affected bottom lines, including Moffitt Cancer Center, always the leader of the pack. Two exceptions: Events for pediatric cancer and leukemia and lymphoma research saw notable gains. Here's a year-to-year breakdown of net proceeds from Tampa's top fundraisers.
