A 36-year-old Clearwater man was arrested Friday, accused of molesting a boy under the age of 12. Juan C. Gonzalez-Tejeda was charged with felony sexual battery in the incident, which happened Aug. 29, a police report said. Gonzalez-Tejeda was at a relative's home when he put the boy on a bed and attempted to assault him, police said. In an interview with a Largo police detective, he said he "snapped" and planned to rape the child, but stopped. He told the boy, who is not being identified because of his age and the nature of the crime, not to tell anyone, the report said. It's unclear when the incident was reported to police. Gonzalez-Tejeda is being held without bail in the Pinellas County Jail.
