The Nielsens

Jytte and David Nielsenof St. Petersburg celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their daughter and son-in-law in Blairsville, Ga. Mr. Nielsen came to Florida from Jekyll Island, Ga., in 1922. Mrs. Nielsen came from Denmark to visit family in Jacksonville and there she met Mr. Nielsen through mutual friends. The Nielsens were married July 6, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg. He served in the Air Force as a flight engineer for B-29s during World War II and later became a building contractor. He assisted in writing Jekyll Island Club, a book on the history of Jekyll Island millionnaires. Mrs. Nielsen was a homemaker. The Nielsens have three children and three grandchildren.

The Priviteres

Ann and Bob Privitere of St. Petersburg celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a trip to Las Vegas. The Priviteres were married June 4, 1949, at Mount Carmel Church in Rochester, N.Y., and moved here from Rochester in November 1992. Mr. Privitere was a buyer for McCurdy's department store and retired after 43 years. He has spent the past 16 years working at HSN in customer service. Mrs. Privitere was a homemaker and is an avid bingo player. Both are members of Holy Family Church. They have four children and eight grandchildren.
