Kevin Montgomery and Dennis Duban, partners for 27 years, were married in Malibu, Calif., in August 2008, before Proposition 8 outlawed gay marriage in the state. The ceremony might have received little attention if not for an emotional speech given by their 16-year-old daughter, Chelsea Montgomery-Duban. Her words of support, delivered through laughter and tears to the men she calls "Dad" and "Daddy," have become a YouTube sensation since she posted the video on the site last month. - Montgomery, a stay-at-home dad, and Duban, a CPA, say they had the ceremony mostly because Chelsea wanted them to. For the record, she is the product of Montgomery's sperm and Duban's sister's egg, and Montgomery's cousin carried her in the womb. - Here is what Chelsea said at the ceremony. You can watch the video onyoutube.com; search "my dads' wedding."

According to me, marriage is just not a man and a woman, or two people who love each other and promise to be together in sickness and in health. And marriage is not even a beautiful white dress.
But what marriage really is, is love blossoming between two individuals and a promise that what they have together can only get better. Marriage is a bond between two people that love each other so much that their hearts are bursting with joy and love . . . and no one can tell them that they don't belong together or that they shouldn't love each other.
My parents are a perfect example . . .Yes, they work hard at their marriage, but they also love each other more than anything in the world. I cannot believe there would be anyone that thinks that they should not be together because there are no other human beings in the universe more meant for each other and happier than they are. They are my dads, my role models and I hope I am one tenth as happy as they are when I find someone to spend the rest of my life with.
