Navy Seaman Matthew E. Laderwager recently completed Navy basic training at the Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, Laderwager took part in a variety of training, including classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.
Laderwager is a 2009 graduate of Central High School and the son of Lisa M. Laderwager of Spring Hill and Matthew A. Laderwager of Panama City Beach.

Main is a 2006 graduate of Springstead High School and the son of Cathie M. and Joseph R. Main of Spring Hill.
With 17 years of experience working with children, Debbie Thompson has joined Ridge Manor United Methodist Church to serve in the part-time position of children's ministry director.
Since her arrival in August, Thompson has been holding meetings with volunteers and making plans for the children's Sunday morning ministry, as well as the Wednesday evening children's program. She will conduct Sunday morning services for children. Also, under her leadership, the Children's Church will continue with volunteer teachers prior to the regular service.
The new director brings along her son, Jason Thompson; his wife, Martha, and their son, Ian, 18 months. Jason will assist with activities and present skits for the children and congregation.
Debbie Thompson, a New Hampshire native, also works as a front desk/medical assistant for a Brooksville doctor. Prior to joining Ridge Manor United Methodist Church, she served as a volunteer assistant in the children's program at Spring Lake United Methodist Church. Prior to that, she worked at Grace World Outreach Church in Brooksville.

The Wally G Wilikers are the "A" or Upper Division champions of the Hernando County Recreation Adult Softball League.

The team batting average for the five playoff games was .633.
