All nine Hernando County Walgreens stores are helping Gifts from Home send treats to troops serving overseas. The items for October: Reese's peanut butter cups and Snickers candy bars.

Each month, Walgreens selects an item and asks customers to purchase it and place it into a collection box. Each store also has a display beside the collection box that features the top 10 items requested by the troops. Those items can also be placed in the collection box.

Linda Kidwell of Gifts from Home will pick up the items and pack them in care packages heading to Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Florida Lottery has placed 200 instant ticket vending machines at retail outlets in the lottery's Tampa District, which includes Hernando County.

Participating locally are all Publix, Sweetbay and Winn-Dixie stores as well as Spring Hill Lanes.

Diana C. Holland is the newest audiologist at the Beacon Head and Neck Clinic and its Ear Shop, at 120 Medical Blvd., Suite 100, Spring Hill.

Holland comes from Jacksonville, but has also practiced in Inverness, Tampa and Spring Hill.

She holds a bachelor's degree in language arts from the University of Florida and completed audiology training at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville. She holds a master's degree in educational media as well as in communication disorders, specializing in audiology.

The Spring Hill Professionals Chapter of Ali Lassen's Leads Club has changed its name to the Ali Lassen's Leads Club, Business Partners of Hernando Chapter.
