How much does it cost to plant a big smooch on Charlize Theron? The going rate is $140,000 - and that's if she's doing it for charity! The bright side is, she doesn't care if you're a woman. Theron, 34, locked lips with a female bidder at a gala for children's charity OneXOne in San Francisco last week, Us reports. Bidding had stalled at $37,000 after Jeremy Piven pulled in $280,000. "You can do better," Theron told the crowd. After a couple of guys bid up to $135,000, the lucky lady finally plunked down the winning bid, ascended the stage and collected her prize as the crowd counted down.

Bale used Cruise for 'Psycho'
Before we knew that Christian Bale had a penchant for losing his temper, he only played madmen in movies such as American Psycho. But we always wondered where he got his inspiration for the sociopath in the 2000 movie. Would you believe it was Tom Cruise? Actually, yeah. "We talked about how Martian-like Patrick Bateman was, how he was looking at the world like somebody from another planet, watching what people did and trying to work out the right way to behave," director Mary Harron told Black Book. "And then one day he called me, and he had been watching Tom Cruise on David Letterman, and he just had this very intense friendliness with nothing behind the eyes, and he was really taken with this energy." That may be the most astute observation of what's wrong with Tom Cruise we've ever read. And we think it rules out Cruisebeing in any Batman films.

U.S. to Switzerland: Give us Polanski
The United States has officially asked Switzerland to hand over Roman Polanski to California, where he could serve up to two years in prison for allegedly drugging, raping and sodomizing a 13-year-old girl in 1977, Swiss authorities said Friday. The formal extradition request, which was filed late Thursday, has been forwarded to Zurich authorities, who will hold a hearing on an unspecified date to decide whether Polanski should be sent back to Los Angeles, the Associated Press reports. If extradition is approved, Polanski may appeal the decision.

Michelle Obama dishes on president
What's President Barack Obama's most annoying habit? First lady Michelle Obama said Friday it's his tennis game. When they play, he usually wins. "He beats me quite often," she said on The Jay Leno Show, appearing via satellite from the White House. She also said there are White House secrets she will never reveal, such as what daughters Malia and Sasha are wearing for Halloween. "You need security clearance for that," she said. And what does she whisper to her husband after his speeches? "I usually ask him, did he take out the garbage?"
