FREEHAN LOANS GOLD GLOVE TO SPC FOR CEREMONY

Bill Freehan, a 1959 graduate of Bishop Barry and former all-star with the Detroit Tigers, will loan one of his five consecutive Gold Gloves to St. Petersburg Catholic during a ceremony at 1:15 p.m. today at the school. Freehan played at Bishop Barry, the all-boys predecessor to St. Petersburg Catholic, before starring as a catcher for 19 seasons with Detroit. Last month Freehan, an 11-time all-star, was among three former players at the school to be inducted into SPC's baseball hall of fame. He will not attend today's ceremony.
