Several restaurants have signed up to participate in Eat Out for Education, a program sponsored by the Hernando Education Foundation. Restaurants donate a portion of their proceeds to the education foundation on each day of the promotion. Diners need to mention "Eat Out for Education" when ordering.

Next week's participant is County Line Cafe & Grille, 120 Commercial Way, Spring Hill, from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Pak Mail Center, 4377 Commercial Way in the Lakewood Plaza, Spring Hill, has partnered with Shred-it to deliver secure document-destruction solutions. Pak Mail now has a secure Shred-it shredding console so customers can drop off private documents to be shredded on site.

Oak Hill Hospital has announced that its parent company, Hospital Corporation of America, and its affiliate hospitals have been selected as one of Computerworld's top workplaces for information technology professionals for the second year in a row. HCA is ranked 42nd on the publication's Top 100 list.

HCA has 162 hospitals and 106 surgery centers in 20 states and England. Its information and technology and services department employ more than 3,000 people in the United States and includes five data centers and 14 division support centers responsible for delivering IT services to HCA as well as more than 145 non-HCA hospitals and facilities.

Prudential Tropical Realty recently unveiled its mobile search technology service known as Curbside Info To You, or CITY.

The program, available 24 hours a day, uses mobile technology to send property details to a prospective buyer's cell phone before the buyer leaves the property. Because it accesses everything included in the Multiple Listing Service, CITY can provide information on any property, not just those listed by Prudential Tropical Realty, and send it to any mobile phone.

The system is powered by Voice Pad and can provide property information in Spanish as well as English.

Kurl Up & Dye hair salon at 4044 Andy Pella Drive, between Forest Oaks Boulevard and Philatelic Drive, Spring Hill, is changing its name to Shear Style. New owner and stylist Sharon Arzillo announced the new name recently.

Amber Slusser has been promoted to branch operations director-youth/family services at the Hernando County Family YMCA, 1300 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill.

Slusser began her career with the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg in 2001, working as a therapeutic counselor with adolescents in an at-risk program. In early 2005, she accepted a position with the YMCA of the Suncoast at the Hernando branch as the teen coordinator, and soon was offered the position of family/youth and teen director.

In 2007, Slusser started a summer day camp for Citrus County, which is now in its fourth year. She was recently promoted to the district's programs director covering Citrus and Hernando counties. While continuing to build youth programs, she earned a professional senior director's certification with the Y.

Slusser has a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in rehabilitation and mental health counseling with a focus in marriage and family therapy. She and her husband, Scott, live in New Port Richey with their two daughters.

Brooksville Air Center, 15421 Technology Drive, south of Brooksville, will host a grand opening at 11 a.m. today.

Brooksville Air Center is the second fixed-base operator at the Hernando County Airport.

Families are welcome to the event, which includes a pig roast and tours of a World War II B-25 bomber. The event is free, but donations for Lea's Prayers and Postage, a local nonprofit organization that provides postage for packages to troops serving overseas, are welcome.

Service Corps of Retired Executives Pasco-Hernando Chapter 439 and the West Hernando/S.T. Foggia Branch Library will present a free small business seminar, "Introduction to QuickBooks," from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the library, 6335 Blackbird Ave., Spring Hill.

Mike Kouremetis, a SCORE counselor, will present the seminar, which is designed for people planning to start a business, as well as for those who have recently started a small business but have not yet set up an effective record-keeping system.

The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce will offer the course "Your Personal Listening Skills" from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday in the chamber's training room, 15588 Aviation Loop Drive, south of Brooksville.

The course helps explain how one's preferred listening approach may not be appropriate for all situations, and participants will learn when and how to adopt another listening approach for successful communication.

The workshop can be useful in a number of applications, such as customer service, presentation skills, conflict resolution and team building. The instructor is Lori Bainum, a corporate trainer.

Hernando Biz ... Net-Connecting for You, a networking group, will meet at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at Silverthorn Country Club, 4550 Golf Course Lane, Spring Hill.

Jazzercise will host its second annual "Americana" Jazzercise class beginning at 9 a.m. July 3 at 1287 Kass Circle, Spring Hill.

The hourlong class is free and open to the public.

Those who wish to attend are asked to wear red, white and/or blue, and come dressed to exercise.

Those participating are asked to bring an item for military troops, such as a personal hygiene item, small snack items or even small toys (deck of cards or squirt guns). All items will be donated to Gifts from Home, which sends boxes overseas to troops.
