MAN ACCUSED OF INJURING CHILDREN

PORT RICHEY

A 46-year-old man was arrested this week after spanking two children so hard they bled, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said. Keith Brian Dorsett Sr. told deputies he spanked a 9-year-old girl and 6-year-old boy with a wooden lath "because they lied, disobeyed, were disrespectful, and were caught playing when they should have been doing their work," the sheriff's report said. Authorities did not disclose how Dorsett knew the children. Dorsett of 9136 Chantilly Lane was charged with two counts of child abuse, and was released after posting $10,000 bail.

LAND O'LAKES

Couple arrested in vehicle burglaries

Two arrests this week might help solve a slew of unsolved burglaries in east Pasco neighborhoods, investigators say. Majestica Santillan, 24, and her boyfriend, Anthony Cabrera, 29, were each driving stolen cars with stolen property inside when deputies spotted them in a stakeout Wednesday near a house they were sharing in Land O'Lakes, authorities said. Santillan was arrested after trying to flee in the stolen car, according to a Sheriff's Office report. Cabrera ran, investigators said, but was found and arrested early Friday. After Cabrera took off, leaving the stolen car behind, deputies found a sniper rifle stolen from a Plant City police officer's cruiser that was parked in the Lake Bernadette subdivision. Santillan also has been charged in connection with several Meadow Pointe burglaries in recent weeks.
