RESIDENTS MAY NOW WATER LAWN TWICE EACH WEEK

COUNTYWIDE

Hernando County residents can return to a twice-weekly lawn watering schedule, at least for now. The Southwest Florida Water Management District allowed watering restrictions to expire on Wednesday after significant improvements in aquifer and river levels as a result of this winter's above-average rainfall. Local governments can continue once-weekly restrictions, and County Utilities staff plans to present the option to the County Commission on July 13. In the meantime, Hernando County will return to the twice-weekly schedule. All watering must be done before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. Even-numbered addresses may water on Thursday and/or Sunday; odd-numbered addresses may water on Wednesday and/or Saturday.
