Registered Nurse Wendolyn "Wendy" Colquhoun, a critical-care nurse at Community Hospital, 5637 Marine Parkway, New Port Richey, recently received national recognition for reaching a significant milestone in the nursing profession.
For the past 20 years, Colquhoun has consistently maintained CCRN critical care nursing certification offered through the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses Certification Corp. She was one of 1,432 CCRNs honored in 2010 by the corporation and the AACN for 20 years of continuous certification.
CCRN certification is an expert credential reserved for those who meet rigorous practice, continuing education and testing requirements in their specialty. It is not the same as an RN license, which assures the public that a nurse has the required entry-level knowledge and skills to care for patients.
Colquhoun is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and is working toward a graduate degree in nursing and health care education from the University of Phoenix.

This summer, the Pasco County Library System will host a series of networking breakfasts for the business community beginning at 8:30 a.m. at local area libraries.
