A person was shot and seriously injured inside a home in a quiet residential neighborhood Monday evening, deputies said. The shooting occurred about 5:20 p.m. at 6592 Mango Ave. S, near South Pasadena. Sheriff's officials said the victim suffered life-threatening injuries. They released no other details. Property records show the home is owned by Perry Perkins, 67. It was not clear if Perkins was in the house. The sight of a dozen police and emergency vehicles stunned neighbors. "We didn't hear anything," said John Bosco, 74, who lives two doors down. Bosco said he has known Perkins for about a decade and always found his home to be quiet. "It's a very good neighborhood," Bosco added.
