SOCIAL DISTORTION BRINGING PUNK BACK TO JANNUS

Jannus Landing has hosted a few decent punk shows over the years: the Ramones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bad Religion, X. If you miss that kind of atmosphere at the new Jannus Live, you're in for a treat: Mike Ness, right, and Social Distortion have announced a fall tour, and they're coming to Jannus on Nov. 12. It's another return to Jannus' roots, as Social D has played there several times over the years, most recently in 2005. But it gets better. Memphis garage punks Lucero - most recently seen melting off faces at Czar - and Frank Turner will open the show. For cowpunks, greasers, rockabillies and anyone else who misses Johnny Cash, this show is as good as it gets. Daddy Kool has the tickets listed at $34.50 ($30 plus a service charge). According to the band's website, they're scheduled to go on sale today.
