Dr. David Kimmel of the Florida Center for Laser Dentistry, 12124 Cobble Stone Drive, Bayonet Point, was recently invited to teach laser dentistry to dentists and periodontists in Cerritos, Calif.

Kimmel gave a class on how to accurately and effectively perform the laser gum treatment, Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure, also known as LANAP. Dentists and periodontists traveled from around the United States to have Kimmel train them using the therapy designed for the effective treatment of periodontitis.

The procedure uses the FDA approved PerioLase developed by Millenium Dental Technologies Inc. Kimmel has been utilizing LANAP for more than seven years. He can be reached at (727) 862-8513.

Events

Gulfside Regional Hospice's Thrift Shoppes will celebrate Christmas in July.

Through the end of the month, Christmas items will be available at all five locations. All of Gulfside's shops are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.

Gulfside Regional Hospice Thrift Shoppe locations are:

- Hudson Thrift Shoppe, 12154 U.S. 19, Bayonet Point.

- New Port Richey Thrift Shoppe, 3601 Universal Plaza, U.S. 19 and Moog Road.

All proceeds from the volunteer-run resale stores are designated to provide care for patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses in Pasco County.

The New Port Richey Professional Network group will have its weekly networking luncheon from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Monday at the Lobster Cove at the Ramada Inn Bayside, 5015 U.S. 19, New Port Richey. Members and guests can order from the menu.

The Pasco Aging Network, a coalition of agencies and private providers of elder services in Pasco County, will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at CARES Rao Musunuru Activity Center, 12417 Clock Tower Parkway, Hudson.

The group will meet the second Tuesday of each month at various locations in west Pasco County. Monthly meetings afford the opportunities for agencies and companies to network and learn about different resources and services in the county.

The new Free Networking International group will meet 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Cantina Laredo restaurant, 2000 Piazza Ave, Building 4, Suite 170, Wesley Chapel (at the Shops at Wiregrass).

The group's corporate sponsor is the Theater Doctor, and its host is Cantina Laredo. The group's director is Martine Duncan, co-owner of the Theater Doctor.

The BNI Revenue Source, a referral-based networking group, will meet 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Heritage Springs Country Club, 11345 Robert Trent Jones Parkway, Trinity.

This summer, the Pasco County Library System will host a series of networking breakfasts for the business community beginning at 8:30 a.m. at local area libraries. The breakfasts are free to business owners interested in making new contacts and learning more about the resources available to them as a business owner in Pasco County.

The Friends of the Library will provide a breakfast of bagels, doughnuts, fruit, juice and coffee.

Breakfasts will be offered on the following dates:

- Friday at the Land O'Lakes Library, 2818 Collier Parkway.

- July 23 at the South Holiday Library, 4649 Mile Stretch Road, Hudson.

- Aug. 6 at the Regency Park Library, 9701 Little Road, New Port Richey.
